OSCharacter Privacy Policy

OSCharacter is designed as a local-first character tool. This policy explains what data the app handles, where that data is stored, and what is shared with the developer.

Short version: OSCharacter does not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. Character data stays on your device unless you choose to export it, share it, or enable iCloud sync.

Data You Create In The App

OSCharacter lets you create and edit character records, including names, ability scores, class details, hit points, armor class, attacks, inventory, encumbrance, spells, retainers, notes, languages, custom class feature text, and optional character images.

This data is stored locally on your device in the app's storage. If you enable iCloud sync in the app, character data is also stored in your private iCloud account using Apple's iCloud services so it can sync between your devices.

Photos And Images

If you choose a profile image through the system photo picker, OSCharacter receives the image you selected. The app does not receive access to your full photo library. Selected images may be stored with your character data and may be included in iCloud sync if sync is enabled.

Exports And Sharing

OSCharacter can create PDF character sheets and OSReferee export files. Exported files are created only when you request them. When you use the system share sheet, the destination you choose controls what happens to the exported file after it leaves OSCharacter.

Purchases

OSCharacter Premium is handled through Apple's StoreKit and App Store purchase systems. Apple processes purchases, refunds, and payment information. OSCharacter receives purchase entitlement information needed to unlock Premium features, but the developer does not receive your payment card details from the app.

iCloud Sync

iCloud sync is optional. If enabled, OSCharacter checks your iCloud account status and stores character backup/sync records in the app's iCloud container. This data is associated with your Apple ID through Apple's services and is not operated through a developer-run server.

You can disable iCloud sync in OSCharacter settings. You can also manage iCloud app data through Apple's iCloud settings.

Data Collected By The Developer

Analytics: OSCharacter does not include a developer analytics SDK.
Advertising: OSCharacter does not include ads or advertising SDKs.
Tracking: OSCharacter does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Developer servers: OSCharacter does not send character data to a developer-operated server in the current app design.

Apple And System Services

Apple may process data through App Store purchases, iCloud, crash reporting, TestFlight, or other Apple services according to Apple's own policies and your device settings.

Children's Privacy

OSCharacter is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated services. Because the app stores user-created content locally and through optional iCloud sync, parents or guardians should manage device, App Store, and iCloud settings for younger users.

Your Choices

Do not enable iCloud sync if you want character data to remain only on the device.
Delete characters inside the app when you no longer want them stored locally.
Delete exported files from Files, Mail, Messages, cloud storage, or any destination where you shared them.
Manage iCloud app data and backups in Apple ID and iCloud settings.
